How to retrieve your emails on Sony Xperia phones

The following instructions are for Sony Xperia phones using the built-in Email app.

To set up a new Sony Xperia mail account

1) Open the Main Menu.

2) Select Email.

3) Open Settings, then tap Add account.

4) Enter:
Email address: your full email address
Password: your email password

5) Tap Manual setup.

Server settings (recommended: IMAP + SSL)

When asked to choose account type, select IMAP.

Incoming server (IMAP)
IMAP server: mail.serenweb.com
Security type: SSL/TLS
Port: 993
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Outgoing server (SMTP)
SMTP server: mail.serenweb.com
Security type: SSL/TLS
Port: 465
Require sign-in: Yes
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Tap Next to continue.

Account options

The phone will now test the connection.

If successful, you will be asked to:

o Set sync frequency
o Enable notifications
o Enter your display name
o Enter your name (shown on outgoing messages)

Tap Next to finish setup.

If you prefer POP settings

POP downloads email directly to your phone and is best used on a single device.

When asked to choose account type, select POP and use the settings below.

Incoming server (POP3)
POP3 server: mail.serenweb.com
Port: 110
Security type: None
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Outgoing server (SMTP)
SMTP server: mail.serenweb.com
Port: 587
Security type: TLS (accept all certificates)
Require sign-in: Yes
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

If the account will not connect

o Ensure the username is your full email address
o Check the password carefully
o Confirm the server is exactly mail.serenweb.com
o Try IMAP + SSL before POP
