How to set up and manage your email accounts
Email settings for all accounts
Retrieval of mail using your own device or computer. We can supply you with the login information so you can use your preferred computer email software or your mobile device to retrieve your emails. The configuration is fairly simple to set up. In the example which follows, the email address is your-name@your-domain.com and the website name is www.your-domain.com
The settings will be similar for any other email software on PCs, Macs and mobile devices. The important settings to understand are:
- The account name is always your full email address, for example
your-name@your-domain.com - The outgoing and incoming mail server are always in the format
mail.serenweb.com - The options for SECURE PASSWORD authentication should NOT BE selected.
- The options for secure SERVER authentication should always be selected and set to use the same settings as your incoming mail server.
- Once you have set up your mail and tested the settings you may get an error message about sending mail. Please read the error message carefully and edit the outgoing mail server as per the instructions.
- Or if mail still can't be sent, edit the advanced settings for outgoing mail server to port 587 and choose STARTTLS for the encrypted connection.
