How to retrieve your emails on Huawei phones

The following instructions are for Huawei phones using the built-in Mail app.

To set up a new Huawei mail account

1) Open the Mail app.

2) Tap the menu icon (top right) and select Add account.

3) Select Other.

4) Select Manual setup.

Server settings (recommended: IMAP + SSL)

When asked to choose account type, select IMAP.

Incoming server (IMAP)
IMAP server: mail.serenweb.com
Security type: SSL/TLS
Port: 993
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Outgoing server (SMTP)
SMTP server: mail.serenweb.com
Security type: SSL/TLS
Port: 465
Require sign-in: Yes
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Tap Next to continue.

Account options

Huawei will now test the connection.

If successful, you can:

• Change how often email is checked (e.g. every 5 or 15 minutes)
• Choose whether this is your default mail account
• Enter your display name (shown on outgoing messages)

Tap Finish to complete setup.

If you prefer POP settings

POP downloads email directly to your phone and is best used on a single device.

When asked to choose account type, select POP3 and use the settings below.

Incoming server (POP3)
POP3 server: mail.serenweb.com
Security type: None
Port: 110
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

Outgoing server (SMTP)
SMTP server: mail.serenweb.com
Security type: STARTTLS
Port: 587
Require sign-in: Yes
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

If the account will not connect

• Ensure the username is your full email address
• Double-check the password
• Confirm the server is exactly mail.serenweb.com
• Try IMAP + SSL before POP
