How to manage your YouTube Channel
Managing Your YouTube Channel
Help customers find your business on YouTube and manage the setup so you can create a YouTube Channel.
1. Create a Google Account with Your Business Email
- Go to Google Account Creation.
- Select "Use my current email address instead" below the Gmail field.
- Enter your business email address (e.g., yourcompany@domain.com) and complete the rest of the required fields (name, password, etc.).
- Check your business email for a verification code from Google and enter it to verify your email address.
2. Sign into YouTube
- Go to YouTube.
- Click on the profile icon in the top right corner and sign in using the Google account created with your business email.
3. Create Your YouTube Channel
- Once signed in, click on your profile icon and select "Your Channel".
- If prompted to create a new channel, follow the instructions. You can use a business name or customize the channel name as needed.
- If you are using a business name, choose "Use a business or other name" and fill in the details for your channel (e.g., logo, banner, description, etc.).
4. Customize Your Channel
- Add a profile picture (recommended size: 800x800 px).
- Upload a banner image for the channel (recommended size: 2560x1440 px).
- Fill in the channel description to let viewers know what type of content to expect.
- Optionally, add links to your website or social media profiles in the "About" section.
5. Upload Your First Video
- Click the camera icon with a "+" sign in the top right corner of YouTube.
- Select "Upload Video" and follow the steps to choose and upload your video file.
- Fill in the video title, description, and relevant tags.
- Click Publish to make your video live.
6. Manage Your YouTube Channel
- Go to YouTube Studio to manage your channel.
- In YouTube Studio, you can view analytics, manage video settings, reply to comments, and adjust channel settings.
- Under the Monetization tab, you can apply for YouTube’s Partner Program once your channel meets the eligibility criteria (1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours).
7. Add Team Members (Optional)
- In YouTube Studio, navigate to the "Settings" section.
- Under "Permissions", click "Invite" to add other users (e.g., a manager or editor) to your channel with different permission levels.
- Invite users using their email address, and they will have access to manage the channel as per the permissions granted.
