eM Client
eM Client (Windows & Mac)
These instructions apply to eM Client, a modern email program available for Windows and Mac.
eM Client works very well with independently hosted email accounts and provides full control over mail settings.
To set up a new email account in eM Client
1) Open eM Client.
2) If this is your first time using eM Client, the setup wizard will open automatically. Otherwise, go to Menu → Accounts → Add account.
3) Enter your full email address and click Start.
4) When prompted, choose Mail → Other (or Manual setup).
Manual configuration (recommended: IMAP)
Select IMAP as the account type.

If you prefer POP settings
POP downloads email directly to your computer and is best used if you only read mail on one device.
When choosing account type, select POP3 and use the settings below.
Incoming Mail Server (POP)
Server: mail.serenweb.com
Port: 110
Security: None
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
Server: mail.serenweb.com
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Username: your full email address

Why IMAP is recommended
IMAP keeps your email synchronised across multiple devices, including phones, laptops and webmail.
POP should only be used if you are certain you want email downloaded to a single computer.
